Why should I ship through Flagship instead of going directly to a carrier?

Flagship offers a complete web based Smartship™ shipping system that allows you to compare our discounted rates (average savings of 25%) on leading courier companies in Canada.

Flagship shows you all the services available for your shipment and recommends the least expensive alternative using leading carriers. You pick the carrier that best suits your needs and our system prints a bar coded carrier compliant waybill for you to print, and the shipment is picked up and delivered by the carrier you chose.

You get choice, convenience and significant savings in one quick step with the SmartShip™ system.

Based on the combined volume of all our customers, we can offer you deep discounts typically reserved for much larger volume shippers.

Flagship offers a full range of courier shipping solutions; from overnight letters to multiple box shipments and distributions, full range of express air to ground shipments. You receive one invoice from Flagship with all your shipping details regardless of which courier company you chose to deliver your packages.

What is the difference between Flagship and dealing Direct?

Flagship is the one-stop-shop so you don’t need to go to each carrier seperately to compare rates and manage your shipments. Since Flagship™ is an authorized reseller for carriers, we combine the shipment volume of our customers to get exceptional discounts, that we pass on to our customers.

Why should I switch from UPS for example, to Flagship?

Keep in mind you are not switching; the same carriers will be delivering your shipment. Rather, you are now dealing through Flagship in order to benefit by our great discounted rates, our SmartShip™ system and our personalized customer service.

Should I call Flagship when there is a problem instead of calling the carrier directly?

You can call the carrier directly at any point, however Flagship customer service personnel offer a more in-depth and personal service than is available from the local carrier office. Thanks to our carrier relationships, Flagship will speak to our assigned supervisors from each carrier and work out a problem more quickly than you would receive from the carrier’s 1-800 number.

Does Flagship offer Ground and Air service to and from Canada / USA and International?

Yes, you can ship ground or air for domestic and international shipments. Any and all services are available with FedEx, UPS, Purolator or DHL are available through Flagship at significant savings.

How can I find out what my rates are?

This is simple. Your rates can be found by logging onto the Flagship™website and entering your shipping details in the Instant Price Quote form. Once you have an account set up with Flagship™, your rates are automatically programmed into our SmartShip™ system and will always be visible once you place an on-line shipment.

How can I tell which services are available for a shipment I am preparing?

Our SmartShip™ system allows you to view service level options. Once you have filled in your shipment information all available services will appear with the corresponding carrier, rates and transit times next to that service level. You can then choose which carrier and service you would prefer for that particular shipment.

What documents do I need for an International Shipment?

You will need to enter your shipment in our shipping system to be able to print an international waybill. Be sure to complete the description and value and make three copies of the waybill. For any shipment other than documents or documents in a box, you will need a commercial invoice, which you can access from our system. You may also need a SED (Shippers Export Declaration). Other forms may be necessary depending on what and where you are shipping. For additional questions or concerns, please contact your Customs Broker or your Flagship Customer Service Representative to determine what paperwork you will need.

How do I calculate dim weight?

Simply enter the shipping details into the Flagship™ system and the dimentional weight will be calculated and displayed for you.

Why am I unable to log in to your website with my username and password?

Double check the spelling of your password, and pay attention to case sensitivity. (i.e. make sure the Caps Lock is not on, etc.) If you still have problems, please contact your Flagship™CSR.

Can I insure my shipments? How do the rates compare to the courier companies direct?

Yes, Flagship™ offers guaranteed insurance on all your shipments. You simply choose the Insurance option and insert the value.

Flagship™offers insurance rates at significant discounts compared to purchasing dealing direct through the carriers. Through our huge volumes we have negotiated great insurance rates, and just like the delivery rates, we pass the savings on to you. For instance, a carrier can insure your parcel at $1.50 per $100 and Flagship™ charges $0.60 per $100.
