What should I do if I missed a delivery for my shipment?
“I missed the delivery for my shipment – what should I do now?” Don’t worry, depending on the carrier delivering your shipment, there are several options available:
The driver should leave a note at your door indicating that a delivery was attempted. The driver will attempt to deliver 3 days in a row, with no additional charge. In some residential areas, the driver may leave the package at an access point for pickup after the 1st attempt.
If the driver is unable to complete the delivery after one attempt, a notice will be left with instructions on where the package can be picked up.
After the 1st delivery attempt, the package may be held at a facility or the driver may make a 2nd attempt. A notice will be left, indicating which of these 2 options will occur.
DHL will make 2 delivery attempts before placing the shipment on hold. They will then try and contact you to let you know that the delivery was attempted and determine if the package should go back for a 3rd attempt or if the receiver would like to pick it up from the depot. The driver should leave a note at the door if a delivery was attempted.
Canpar service allows for one attempt for delivery. The package is then placed on hold for pickup at a convenient location in your area.
It is important to note that if a package goes back to a facility, it will only be held for a certain number of days before it is automatically returned to the shipper at their expense. FlagShip can contact the courier and request that the package either be held longer or go back out for delivery.
